Blacksheep, you are right.
But if you are working in a company, with different type
of aircraft , with the same type of radar installed,
you jack it up to 0-level and adjust antenna...

One engine running, low current flow.
Airborne : high current flow,
provided by controllers.
What is the reason to use controllers,
when a simple "current relay"...

Interflug, correct me if i am wrong.
In my view ACARS is a "messaging system".
Not like a CFDS.
Or a QAR- recorder in parallel with the DFDR.
When ACARS tells you "probe-failure" it does not tell...

Pitot-failure

On ground low power is applied to the probes.

have combined pitot-tubes.
Therefor the confusion.
Pitot+static in on tube.
