Line check question...

I was the checkee on a line check and the checker tried to impress me with his magic numbers estimating the height of a CB ahead. I looked at him and said I didn’t give a f..k about his estimate,...

Just a personal perspective. I never saw any useful benefit of that use of A/T. I always preferred either an A/T ON or OFF control of the engines, also resting my hands on the thrust levers to...

The door limits

"The door limit on a 747 40kts for operation and 65 kts when opened"

the 737 has a similarly worded limitation. My first thought upon each reading was: Wind is 39 kts..good to go. But if after...

I have asked myself how that event would have turned out, all things equal, except it being a b737-800. Would you fly at flaps up manoeuvre speed bug initially? Is that as "informative" as the airbus...

If you've allowed the aircraft to get that f..led up, then you should let the other pilot have the controls. Someone was not watching or paying attention to what was happening.

I was flying a 737-200 back in the day.
The pressurisation mode, due to system faults, was manual.
Taking off from MEM towards the east, the storms were so bad, I told the FO I will take the...

Over controlling for sure

The aircraft physically cannot react to control inputs that fast. The mass and inertia will not allow it. Not sure of the time lapses between the frames, but a good 95% of the FOs I fly with, are not...

We usually get one of the cabin crew to walk barefoot over the wing. If she doesn't slide off the wing, then we're good to go! ;)

Found it...finally!

Section 22-31-00 pg 86

a case could be made against the sanity of those who in the present state of the industry get 60,000+/- into debt to start flying. The chances of a decent return on that investment is diminishing.
