you keep saying that "there is no problem as long as the pilots were happy to take it on the ferry". The problem is, in most companies, not just Jetstar it's a big call for a pilot...

sorry for any confussion...the aircon and elec sections on the overhead pannel were swaped over, therefore in the wrong position. Bad enough a guy that should know better accepted the A/C with this...
