I flew on the last commercial BA VC10 service...

I flew on the last commercial BA VC10 service from LHR to Brunei - I don't remember the date, I think 1976 or 77.

I seem to recall it going to Rome, then Muscat, Colombo, Singapore, then Brunei.

I see Batavia have now formally announced CGK-JED 5 times weekly from August. Just in time for Ramadan.

I believe Lion plan to use the 747 to Riyadh, but also heard mention of Australia and China....

Might be a bit late but anyway - flown on them a few times, DME-ASB, ASB-AUH and LHR-ASB, mostly C class. Relatively new aircraft but getting a bit tatty. Fairly basic service, meal was edible but...

When you consider that UK built the first jet airline, the Comet... the superb VC10... Concorde (ok a joint venture but still)..
