Training as required to renew the SEP rating. Then send the lot off and get the PPL issued. You could even do this on a medical declaration.

One never finished of the type rating, one finished the type rating but never flew the third managed about 150 hours before hitting the buffers. I doubt any of them will fly again....

I know of a person who counted their instrument time from their PPL towards the 10 hour instrument requirement for FI issue. No problems at all.

I certainly know of one organisation who teaches for the NPPL in a none EASA aeroplane and they even send people solo. And presumably they are still places that teach for the NPPL (SLMG) as well....
