if sibu was in fact an alternate after typical late night bad weather over kuching,

Sorry to go off at a small tangent. I remember seeing clear slo mo images of DH110 Control surfaces detached and flying a foot or two behind the aircraft-- interpreted as flutter

(a)My poor memory of early construction picture showed two rear pivots well aft.
(b)even so, loss of control stiffness would likely lead to flutter to destruction...

I suggest Hs no longer constrained Flipping straight to 90 degrees ,little pitch moment to airframe, only colossal drag.#

How about this....
HS Screwjack,, or support structure distorts/ disconnects for some reason
(One possible reason could be jackscrew thread or JS Nut thread worn and stripped)
HS now located only...

This is about distance travelled after event .Variously reported as 15km/25miles.
Tracking data unreliable but included 80 knots G.Spd
at that speed vertically perhaps several minutes to reach...

I cant help seeing that clean break across the top of rear fuselage former (or construction joint) looks like a fatigue zip failure'

Wind milling props produce oodles of drag! (think what an autogyro can do)
They also wreck the airflow over the tail.
Rule of thumb- keep straight on take offs and landings.
Or clean trousers...
