Most SOs aren’t going to the 73 due to the SH award. They aren’t going there as they have just come from Qlink, Jetstar, Network, Rex etc and have had enough of flying multi-sector domestic days....

I’m not sure that really is the case. 80% of SOs I fly with are ex Qlink/Jetstar/jet connect. 10 % probably Cathay and very rarely someone from GA or RAAF.

Flying schools can apply accelerated competency to the training paths. After an assessment flight they can see what you need to do and tailor it to your needs. Who really knows what CASA will ask...

I’m not sure why most flying schools don’t set their own RPL theory exams and cut CASA out of the equation completely at this stage. Would have to check but pretty sure the regs still allow this.

Aircraft was filled with fuel for London but had to go to Melbourne for maintenance after lightning strike. So yes it was purely a fuel burning exercise.
