Pitch up moment

NWA SLF

The whole discussion about pitch-up tendency on B737's stems from why MCAS is needed on the MAX.

It has NOTHING to do with engine thrust. Is has to do with the position of the engines....

But they stayed in ‘level change’ mode all the time. That means that the autothrottle kept the engines at climb thrust all the time.

Both altitude and speed were uncontrolled.

In general, I think ATC should be clear to pilots up to which category the ILS can be garantueed and on the other hand pilots should actively ask for this....

It appears that they postponed gear retraction. So maybe they knew right away that there was something wrong. Could be through tire pressure, maybe through tower/ATC.

Guess what: The A330 has been retrofitted with a' backup speed scale' (BUSS) in case all three ADC's fail. The BUSS provides a coarse speed reference, based on AOA.
