Yep, it's worth a visit to the GP to exclude anything obvious, like a lump of wax in the external ear canal, but in terms of testing your hearing, he's not going to offer much more than crude...

If I do much underwater stuff, I'm dizzy and sick for days afterwards. I've tried plugs and nose clips, nothing seems to work well.
