The real deciding factor for ETOPS times is not "how long can you fly on 1 engine", as the answer is effectively infinitely; these engines have a phenomonally low IFSD rate.

All this talk about IAG maybe buying bmi and not BA, and that this somehow makes a subtle difference as to whether they can avoid a TUPE purchase/just buy the slots etc is rather spurious if you ask...

Sadly the Cathay contract wasn't renewed, as Cathay got 850 hours from the CAA, so 40 odd engineers to go from the hangar, plus a few actual Cathay engineers based in our hangar.

I beleive it will start around early April, but thats just a best guess.
If it leaves around 2200z 'twould arrive ~0300z...

As far as I understand I think VS already do BGI...

As far as I understand I think VS already do BGI from MAN (could be wrong).
However I know they have been approached by MAN to ask if they would like to take over the LAS route.

I don't think that 22R has EMAS yet, it's just the one runway as far as I remember.
BTW we stick the BD A330 in on 22R, and comfortably come off at A (used to be C). Autobrake Med, and Max reverse...
