Seagate problems

Had two Seagate drives fail first half last year (I think both 1T).
Have been using a 1.5T Verbatim for the last six months without problem.
An earlier poster mentioned 2008 Seagate firmware...

Opera 10 works for me

As an Opera user for several years (from before Firefox appeared), I can say I think this is a good upgrade... it works faster than 9.64, no stability (or other) problems so far.
I prefer Opera to...

Don't know if this is any help....
A couple of months ago I re-installed XP on my home built late 2003 vintage AMD 2700+ machine (still my favourite PC actually...)
No sounds of any kind on this...

Moved from AVG Free 7.5 to 8.0 a couple of weeks ago.
Has worked OK for me: no obvious increase in memory usage or degradation of system performance - but the PC (AMD 64 dual core 4400) is only used...

Apologies if I've drifted off subject here....
In my experience Win XP is a stable OS... I was a late to adopt - stuck with W2000 until XP had been around for a couple of years.. probably never move...
