I've often wondered whether pilots, when they come on the intercom to tell passengers about weather conditions at the arrival airport, might be understating things like the wind strength and so on....

Landing aborted because plane on runway

Landing at LHR yesterday we were suddenly hurled back up into the sky because there was another plane on the runway. The flight was VS301 from Delhi. Nobody panicked because we were all rather taken...
