ATPL, how hard is hard

Hi all

At the grand age of 35 and working hard in a demanding career, I think I may be in a position to fund a modular ATPL.

Atpl compaired to BSc hons civil engineering

Has anybody actually completed a part time degree in civil engineering or engineering and then gone on to do an atpl? If so how does the work load compair?
