LCDRP,

They don't hire directly, but if you are a "good" guy, the chances to get a permanent position are pretty good. They retire with 60 in general but a few guys got an extension for one year....

I'm sure he would have to do a written exam! At least in the helicopter specific subjects such as performance, weight and balance, aerodynamics, ops proced. and so on.
Maybe different in UK...

Hi Warmkiter,

sorry, but no credits from the FAA tickets to the JAA. You'll get a credit in some subjects such as Met, Nav, Air Law and so on, from your JAA ATPL (A) towards the JAA CPL-H.

there are 2 schools in germany, one is Eurocopter and one is LGM in Mannheim which offers a full course or conversion from IR(A) to IR(H) on BO 105.
