I wouldn't worry too much about the opinions of Rob Gibson. All parties have rent-a-gobs and the SNP is especially blessed.

Putting aside the fact that defence is a reserved issue - which makes...

When I was a girl and coralled during the holidays into driving tractors on the farm, I used to thoroughly enjoy being targetted by the yanks in their Warthogs - and confess to sometimes abandonning...

Lancaster over Hampstead - thanks chaps

I was sure I could hear Merlins ... a few minutes ago (12:03) all the hairs on the back of my neck stood up as the BBMF Lancaster came growling over the Mount and Jack Straw's Castle and passed at...

I've seen it

There is indeed a Lancaster in the mud at Pegwell Bay. My dad took my brother and I to see it in about 1970 or 1971, when it was visible during a very, very low tide.
How did he know it was there?...

Three air force personnel dead and sixteen injured according to the BBC. No so funny if you were in Colombo.

A shame more are not like you, SXB

Well, I do wish someone like you had been there as none of the several hundred people in the hall lifted a finger. So I had to do it myself. When the yobbos saw that I would not be intimidated, they...

Wusses?

Oh, I'm only teasing! I wasn't suggesting that a have-a-go hero was required. Just someone - anyone - to acknowledge what was happening. How many here would have stood by while a woman and her...

Confrontation at immigration

But what happens in that limbo world between the aircraft steps and the armed coppers hanging about on the public side of immigration?

Landing at Stansted recently, I joined the usual multiple...

Thank you all

Gosh, thank you everyone. Very useful indeed. We're not off for a week or so but I'll let you know how we go on. I believe we're heading off from EGLM.

A friend has invited me to sit in the right seat as he does some hour-building for his commercial ticket. Where will we be going? "You decide, home or abroad," he said kindly.

Only thing is, I'm...

Pay attention in class

Oh dear, I rather think that any hyperbole is entirely yours, CARR30. You're so busy rubbishing me that you've failed entirely to address the point.

Answer this: in what way is it right to make...

I'll certainly try Flybe, thanks. Perhaps I haven't made my point entirely clear. The issue under discussion here is priority board for families with young children. The point was raised that without...

Oh for an alternative

Ah, CARR30, I'd love to fly anyone but FR; unfortunately they're the only lot doing STN/LIG - the route I use the most. Buzz used to do it, bless 'em. They were lovely. I wish someone else would have...

Parents hit back

Right then, MOL.

If, for all of the reasons already stated in this thread, the safety of our children, other passengers, cabin crew and aircrew really means this little to you (and folks you can...

The Eighth Passenger

An absolute must if you can find it, The Eighth Passenger (Miles Tripp). An articulate, intelligent and perfectly harrowing account of a Lancaster crew on ops in late 1944/45, told by the bomb aimer....
