Nice to see something different coming in, but the previous 747 operator proved it isn't the best aircraft to start a route with, unless they are expecting to carry lots of cargo.

AA & MAEL

AA have to have a maintenance contract to operate the flights, the aircraft needs an ETOPS check before any flight across the pond so there isn't a choice other than which company gets the contract.

There is something seriously wrong with those cargo figures, in the days I used to do the EK it would move around 1,000 tonnes a month which is less then 10 tonnes per movement.

Rumour over the weekend was PHL/ORD on alternating days using an A333! Can't see it myself unless they have secured some major cargo deal and the pax are a bonus.
