That is how they were delivered to NWA, the manual function was designed as a backup and not a primary so we had lots of seat failures. All of the manual ones were replaced with electric seats....

Do not know how ofter it occurs, but virtually never have I seen it on our fleet. Our operations is one of the largest with airbus. Think I've seen it twice in 15years.

We have CFM engines, and it happened on them also, in fact they ran into a tug with the thrust...can't remember how long ago. Also, why try something, if you know its contrary to good operating...
