Incident & Accident Databases
As a newly qualified FSO, I am researching incident and accident databases. The NTSB has one for the USA and there are some other safety related websites, but I am looking for a worldwide I & A database....does anyone know of something similar?
the ntsb one is http://www.ntsb.gov/ntsb/query.asp incase your interested. Have been searching for info re F406, thats the Reims-Cessna C406 , accidents and incidents, any info appreciated |
Tried the Website 'Sticky' yet?
Skaz Have you tried the 'sticky' at the top of this forum's title page, I found this under the heading 'Investigation':

Not sure if this is any use to you.I can't see any F406s on there so perhaps not (have any crashed yet?),but still a reasonal database.

Not on the web but the UK CAA CAP479 World Aircraft Accident Summary lists 8 Cessna F406 accidents since 1990 as follows:-
RegNo 5Y-JJG 5H-TZC 5H-TZD ZS-NYI D2-ECQ ZS-OIG N406SD 5H-TZC WAAS on CD in .pdf format is £75 from Airclaims |

I think you will be searching in vain for an official global database. Not all countries keep collated records and those that do tend to keep them in incompatible formats.

Genghis: Thanks. And also to the others. I hope that the British link can track incidents based on aircraft type.
Skaz: Let's just hope that our paychecks never bounce, and we can at least savor an ancient APU's Jet A fumes and cheap airport coffee with a free (very covert) sprinkling of Starbuck's chocolate powder. PS-Genghis: you Huns really aren't such nasty demons on horseback, after all! |
