Ignition Override 23rd August 2005 06:34

Some of those pilots have no idea that there is a difference beteen spotting minor fluctuations in whatever, and a major mistake. Some of them might have been "anointed Instructor Pilots". I flew recently with guys who had been Instructors or Check Airmen in anything from T-37, T-38s (basis for F-5), Embraer 135, Bell Jet Ranger to the C-141.

They NEVER bellow out or even point to such constant fluctuations in my flying-and I make at least my share of mistakes-certainly numerous smaller ones. They say in a normal voice, Hey-eh, let's read the Before Taxi Checklist', or "Center said he wanted 320 instead of 320 knots max.", or "I think he needs us on a heading of 170-instead of direct to Walnut Ridge VOR".

In the early 60's, Southern Airways had some scabs onboard after the strike was over (President JFK's people helped the pilots win). One unpopular scab was nicknamed the "chocolate monkey".

One day, somebody ( a certain Flight Attendant "W") decided to start putting a strong laxative in his chocolate drink. He finally got dehydrated and needed some time off.:D Nowadays, this will get you fired .:ugh:
