I thought this was going to be about prune members that joined circa 2009 forwards.
Pardon the interruption. Carry on! :} No offense intended towards those few legitimate gentleman of recent membership. |
nothing stops a dream. :8

I am shocked, shocked I tell you, to learn of these things....
But it's comforting to know that the chief pilots of these reputable airlines are doing all they can to put absolutely the best and most experienced pilots they can in the cockpits. |
blindworm, not mine pal.
Anything is corrupt if you play that game.
l remember a couple of west african caa chappies, one of whom claimed 1800 hrs P1 on 1-11`s, 1805 hrs total, and his senior who high tailed it after bursting every tyre on his first sim ride on take off. Mind the host country did have a near garden party to present the medals and cut glass bowls. Just commercial pressure, which as we know, can`t exist. Apart from that ? **** all really. |
Lots of "fakees" in Korean Air who somehow got through the hoops and performed better than the local korean pilots. Go figure; flying by the numbers ain't too difficult if you know how to play the game and act the part!;)

Look, in 1991, I left Emirates to join a new company as Head of In Flight Services. I was young, naiive and...well stupid! The Chairman of the company I joined professed to be a "Pilot" and he looked the part....he was ALWAYS in his uniform at the appropriate moment. His name is Anthony Abrahams...he DOES come up in google searches. PM me for any more info.

Real pilot, fake doctor
Here's a twist on fake pilots:
AP EXCLUSIVE: Pilot duped AMA with fake M.D. claim As a cardiologist and United Airlines captain, William Hamman taught doctors and pilots ways to keep hearts and planes from crashing...But it turns out Hamman isn't a cardiologist or even a doctor. |
haejangkuk you are 100% correct about KAL. There is a KAL747
Swedish-Chinese Captain who speaks about his flying experience obtained at SAS. However fails to mention it was as a flight attendant. Fraudulent trash should be jailed. |
that fake MD story is funny. the guy was otherwise a qualfied captain with atpl and half a dozen type ratings in big jets.
|
cargolux
I knew a cargolux pilot who had a license that was not exactly all it was ment to be.
If the paper work looks right you can go a long long way ....... |
Years ago, I had a friend pencil whip his FO time into command time with the help of a desi office worker who provided company letterhead and a borrowed signature stamp. He was hired at KAL as an A300 captain and later moved to left seat of the B-744.
A good man, did work with a local Korean orphanage. He's back home in Oz from what I hear. Sometimes, in the expat world, crime does pay I suppose... |
How about the United captain who passed as a medical doctor for 15 years and was giving lectures..... until he was found out!!!:=
|
You dont have to stray that far to find those fake pilots! Older PPruners will remember one such character from Scotland with a flavour for the L1011. Convicted for other crimes though

yeah that's a scary thought :oh:

There´s always going to be fakes, cheats, frauds, and imposters. Some will get caught, some won´t, but hopefully most will.
There´s also a difference between embellishing your flight attendant career to sound important, because that just makes you a DB or a tool, and lying on a resume/logbook to get a job. And that is stealing from the opportunities of others who worked hard and honest to get where they are. I still think DBs like Tim Martins shouldn´t be flying. He was a real life FO at American Eagle, but claimed to be an F16 pilot, NYFD volunteer firefighter, deepsea diver, Southwest Airlines 737 instructor, American Eagle hiring staff, NTSB crash investigator, volunteers for habitat for hummanity, claimed to have been furloughed by another regional airline where he never actually worked, US Air Force Academy Graduate, and claimed to have graduated to from aviation college. The Koreans have a saying, ¨those who have a long tail will eventually step on it themselves¨ |
Any idea where the guy who faked his ATPL at Westjet is flying now ?
|
No. Sorry!
And I've also lost track of the Ex Royal Air Force officer (Air Traffic) who faked his logbook hours until found out by Airtours (Now Thomas Cook). At least he was prosecuted by the UK CAA...! Which served as a lesson to others. He was made to do all his training again and had to delete all the GR1 and Hawk hours which he never flew. Last heard of ....? So it happens all over the world.... What a surprise! |
Any fake or cheating pilot should be jailed for many years and never be given the oportunity again of having a job related to the aviation industry.
|
Fake Pilots
Fake pilots one thing, fake instructors/caa officials another thing, how do these guys get past the licencing authorities-trust me 4 hours in a sim and you have a pretty good idea of what you are dealing with, fake or not, maybe there are a few gaps/loopholes higher up that need to be looked at!

Is anyone able to define the F in FAA?
