Please stop asking how many job are being lost with "Flight by Night Awys" and how many pilots are being made 'to go' with "XYZ Airlines". Lets hope and try to be positive and see if goes the other way. Lets not make it go the way we don't want it. I know it is a rumours site and that's what is all about, but we are causing problems for ourselves. It's negative and is damaging.

A nice thought, but if you've lost your job, or are about to, (thankfully neither in my case) - especially if you're in your forties/fifities with a lot of younger people with the same hours/experience applying for the same job that you are, it's not easy to be positive.

I've been there. The company went bust and there were hundreds of us. I was low hours, no much experience, etc. The bills kept coming and believe me... at the time it seemed it will never end. But what I am saying is: rumours of this kind are destructive and don't help anyone. Some people bring other carriers names up, just to be harmful.
It's a shame. It's people's lives.
Survival, I guess. 'If somebody else goes down, maybe it won't be me' attitude or thought.

What you're advocating, Viscount Sussex, is an ostrich head-in-the-sand attitude: if I pretend it's not there, then perhaps it will go away.

It doesn't work.

I'd rather know what the real state of the industry is - and from that know if there are any sign of things bottoming out - than just crossing my fingers and hoping for the best.

I think that so far all of the threads have been pretty accurate. Certainly, I haven't seen any deliberately malicious ones - and if there have been, the moderators have jumped on them quickly.
