Bombardier RJX?
Rumoured in Canada that Bombardier are looking at the RJX production line.
god help us!
RJ-X or BRJ-X? RJ-X was the initial code for the RJ-700 & the 700/900 line's going strong (no losses in orders with some airlines actually accelerating orders). BRJ-X was the code for the "100 seater".

No, I meant the RJX line, Woodford.
Ye Gods Why? Would have thought they were more like to do a Fairchild & wait for the mob at Oberpfaffenhoffen to self destruct(again)and pick up a modern airframe. Unless, of course, they get all of Woodford for the same price as Shorts?
Second thoughts - could it be for the conversion of Global Express airframes to ASTOR for the RAF? In which case this s/b moved to the Military Forum (Genghis might have a job).
Business logic: Buy up the competition and either close it or convert it to a profit-center for yourself.
It could be that Bombardier wants to do one or the other... Boeing bought deHavilland for its design technology, and Bombardier may be doing the reverse: place some enhancements on the Woodford product that make it another world-beater. Same Type Licence, new variant = another chunk of the market. Any other (logical) thoughts floating around? [ 02 January 2002: Message edited by: ipanema ]</p> |
