Aurigny ATR at LGW

Anyone know what happened to the Aurigny ATR in the cul-de-sac between piers 1&2 at LGW today? Seems the aircraft pushed back, was on the taxiway and was evacuated. Surrounded by 4 fire engines when I passed.

Smoke in the cabin, I heard. Not the first time this has happened to an Aurigny ATR, but at least this time it wasn't airborne! :uhoh:

I hear that Flybe carried some of their stranded passengers but couldn't take many as they were nearly bookd to capacity. Again. :}

strange though it seems, believe it was a swarm of wasps which was loose on the airport. had settled on the auringy and got inside....

So one presumes the bees were smoked out of the aircraft.

How on earth did the beekeepers get past BAA security :E

This story appears to have created a hive of activity; let's hope the pax didn't get stung on rebooking!

Y'know. A moderator with no sense of humour would move this thread to Jet B(ee)last.

Not me though.
