JUST HAD THE HAPPY NEWS THAT I HAVE GOT THE CHOP AS A ROSTERER AT EUROPEAN IN BOH.AND AM RELIABLY INFORMED I AM THE FIRST OF MANY.SAD

Heard the news not good. When do we see F1 car tyres on the 737 landing gear in an effort to cut costs?! :confused:

Very sad news indeed, as I recall EAC laid off many people last year as well. Does anyone know how many casualties there may be from EAC?

Is Stoddy cutting costs in order to fund the bottomless pit at Minardi? Heard he's already bought a weekends worth of tyres with the money he saved from making all the part time hosties redundant, I soppose someone has to keep up the rear of the F1 circus!
Seriously, good luck to all still at EAC, I'm sure the ball was interesting.

Easy to assume European funds tyres for Minardi but the truth is probably somewhat different. No 3's are always on temporary contracts as the work naturally dries up during the winter. Nature and survival is often ruthless, airlines are remarkably similar. Luck to those whose job has gone.

Got the chop chop letter today. Handled with the usual personal care.

Me too - looks like about 25 pilots in all.

I was on the 737 fleet. Told only 2 weeks ago that all layoffs would be from the 1-11 fleet. Usual management, cover their own @rse, statement I guess. I guess Mr Stodart got a good price for a bunch of 737s, before the chapter 3 restrictions next year or am I just cynical.

Sorry to hear about you all at Ops/Crewing at EAAC. Believe me I know how you feel. It happened to us all at Gill on 20th September and a good 75% are still looking for something (me included). It's a cut throat world with very few companies reciprocating the loyalties and dedication of staff.

Keep looking, and being in "the south", you should have better chance.

With 737 experience, shouldn't Easy and Ryanair be natural places to look right now? I understand Easy is still hiring big time - your 737 experience should be a big plus...

Have you made inquiries with those guys?

Incidentally, how much longer are the Bac-111s expected to fly with EAAC? Are they heavily utilized now? Where do the Bac-111s fly out of (bases)?

I have heard that AFX are looking for ops people and crewing people . Might be worth contacting them

1-11's to be phased out ahead of schedule, like now. (Not March).

1-11's being phased out but one being kept on private register for Paul Stoddart/Minardi with another as spare possibly. 5 737's to be operated over winter period we hear.
