BLUE FOX

Anyone know what has happened to the Blue Fox plans? In particular the March 2002 start!!

LGW Vulture 11th January 2002 18:33

If you'd seen the business plan, then you'd no need to ask the question.

From what I've heard, they should try and join forces with the Guvnor....

Thanks Vulture

Wasn't priveleged to the whole thing, but what I did see certainly made me think of flying pigs.

Only thing was that the names allegedly associated with the outfit gave it some credence. The idea was a good one (allbeit the planned yield was far too low for the facilities offered) but I was astounded to learn that they intended to purchase operated aircraft. On a Start-up???

I met them during October and was told funding was in place, despite the obvious temporary downturn.

They had some strange ideas about departmental functioning.

Do you know if they have definitely given up the ghost?

After lots of hype around August/September it seems to have gone very quiet. Website hasn't been updated since setember either.

swede-basher 12th January 2002 02:09

One would assume that for a March start as frequently advertised by "The Fixer" then by now the A/C would be in a facility somewhere undergoing conversion into the all business config and that Pilots/Engineers/Groundstaff would be on the payroll. I think we can assume this was all smoke and mirrors buy the distinct lack of activity.

Their web site certainy does not appear to have been updated since we last had this question. (Sept + Nov, if memory serves).

I notice that they have an automatic date and time display on the site but it must be running on GMT as it shows Sat 12 at 23:09.

As mere pax, I have to say that I don't think they stand a chance. Everybody is dropping their prices across the pond and although STN will be very handy for folks out the NE of London and home counties, it cannot be enough.

Just checked the link you posted, and this is what I got:

Looks like it's all over. Seemed a great idea at first, but now that Concorde is back in the air, it doesn't seem that attractive any more .......

Having just seen the site of their proposed new terminal with not a brick laid I cant see it happening.
Good idea, bad timing.

As far as I know, they will be using Metro Business Aviation's facilities at STN. Or will the MBA facilities at STN be upgraded for Blue Fox's arrival?
