Iberia Mayday
 

Overheard Iberia flight 0967 decleare a Mayday this morning in Casablanca airspace. They said they were an A321 with 160 pax and 6 crew.

Followed them on box no2 and luckyly they landed safely at Casablanca Mohammed-V at 0820z.

Anyoune could shed any light as to what happened?

Google tells us: en-route from GCXO to LEMD, in-flight engine shutdown after fire warning and visible engine fire (?), uneventful landing at Casa.

No comment.

I realize now that I met the captain of that flight just before the incident, during the hotel check out. He was a very pleasant sort of guy and a good mannered gentleman. I'm glad it all went well.
