Heard gossip re this sometime around July 20/21.

Any facts, gents?

I'd heard it was Islamabad,bound for MAN.Runway blocked for 8 hours!

Is this incident actually this one ?

That link is incredible. I'd never have beleived that if an airliner taxied for 5nm at 50kts, its tyres would actually burst, (not just deflate) with a bead temp of over 100degrees celcius. Incredible.

Ok, its a highly unusual scenario, but I should imagine aircraft routinely taxi half that distance...
