United we fail - Midair leak reported as pressure mounts on Boeing
A United Airlines Boeing 777-300 aircraft suffered a midair fuel leak and was forced to make an emergency landing Monday, marking the fifth incident the airline reported in a little over a week. United Airlines Flight 830 took off for a 14-hour journey from Sydney to San Francisco, but only two hours into the flight, the plane had to be redirected over a “maintenance issue,” ABC 7 reported. |
Hydraulic leak, not a fuel leak. Two days after the event, the New York Post still can’t get it right?

To be expected. It's Boeing hunting season now!
The news media do this to specific airlines too when they hit string of even ordinary "stuff". Every blown tire is newsworthy, gets reported and is an indictment insinuating malfeasance and neglect. Nothing to see here. |

Exactly. The airplanes in question (and the specific type in particular) have operated well for a long time. There's nothing unusual about stuff happening because...stuff happens.

Is it that bad with Boeing? |
