Our tame BA quizmeistro says theres another court hearing, starting on 20 Feb to decide how much compo he gets, including for pay stoppage, being a victim of black-listing and them trying to fiddle his medical record during the pilot strike in 2019.

Thanks flash…sad to think that industrial relations are still in the 70s when I took a redress of grievance case which I won but didn’t do me any good.
Not that far removed from the 49ers.
Remember Munich inquiry and Key being bullied as the union rep followed by his untimely demise at Staines.

BA has previous form for putting a PR firebreak between themselves and ambitious managers.

I wish employment Judge G Tobin or his Asian ilk had been involved in the 49s case. Having read the judgement I think there would have been a more equitable decision in what was in some ways a similar case - the vilification of (a) union member(s) who fought for his/their legal rights. This judgement reads fairly.

Good to see that the DFO has no doubt been asked to defenestrate himself.

I shall follow the remedy hearing with interest.

Interesting that the Tribunal focussed on Documents, much more than Witnesses.

Learning - If you have a complaint - any complaint, about your employer, put it in writing.

But if you are the Employer, get rid of these stupid Stone Age agreements.

Highly satisfactory and just for the BA Skip. Many in our Industry did not h ave the financial strength or risk capability to take on Management with deep Company funds.

What a shame he got very little to no help from BALPA.

Who was it said (roughly) "BA policies are made at (IAG) board level, therefore when the shonet hits the fan ... a scapegoat need to be appointed as sacrificial lamb." ?

That creates a vacancy for a new scapegoat - the Poisoned Chalice springs eternal.

Hot Seat ? Depends what you are allowed to make of it. I'm told Director of Flight Operations used to be a prestigious appointment - now it's just another level of mediochre management, taking orders from any TD&H.

BA sent a completely different team to the Tribunal Remedy Hearing. ... Judgement not expected for a couple of months.

An expensive lesson learnt. Where were BA’s legal council in all this - it sounds like poor legal advice received.

Egos and personal vendettas. Some of these people incorrectly believe because they are a group and part of big organisation, with access to better lawyers, they will win. We know this as "Risky Shift" in our occupations as pilots. When HR departments and managers realise they got it wrong, they just dig themselves a bigger hole for fear of looking like idiots (only to make it worse). I know of 3 recent cases in the last several years where from the word go the employee's case looked way more solid than the company's, but the company pushed it all the way only to get egg on their faces.

A rerun of their treatment of the 777 Skipper who found himself without engines on Heathrow finals, office suits learnt nothing from their mishandling it seems. Then there was the November Oscar as well. Might we see stocks or gallows set up at Waterside to improve morale?
