Virgin Australia In Administration

Just announced Virgin Australia has been placed into voluntary administration, with Deloitte's being appointed as the Administrator.

I haven't seen any official announcements yet, still just media quoting "reliable sources". Can you provide a link to your confirmation?

Nothing has "officially" come out from what I've seen, though it's the lead story on most every Australian news outlet.

Sydney Morning Herald article and The ABC's article for example.

VA stands for voluntary administration?

None of those links provide anything concrete, all just speculation at this stage. It seems the company will be making an announcement tomorrow.

There is no notice on their web page so they are practically NOT in administration.

I'm sure there will be some Chinese investors ready.

There was a lawyer on the radio this morning who beleived that part / article 51 of the Constitution (?) provides for a 2 airline policy to be a desirable state of affairs. (I really don't know, a I said iot was on the radion so I listened in the time it took me to drive to the shops...)

This would then provide that the Government majority owned it.....and I thought.....they could call it.......... TAA!

ASH26E 21st Apr 2020 12:07

Err, Fliegenmong...the Australian Constitution was written just prior to powered aviation occurring - I'm told.
