Wizzair Announcement tomorrow
Does anyone know what the big announcement Wizzair are making to their staff tomorrow lunchtime is about?
It doesn't sound like it will be positive news. |
Arguably, if anyone did know there would be no need for an announcement! You'll just have to wait.

They owe me a refund and say an announcement about claiming via website will be available tomorrow. Maybe just this and nothing more sinister.

It could be that with the right financial backing and EJ share price where it is at present (⅓ of what it ought to be) they simply can't afford not to. If they have big aspirations in mind now is the time to grab a bargain because when the bug is vanquished shares in locos will soon be back where they ought to be. |
Think people are getting a bit carried away here. To think that any airline right now is going to use a large part of its liquidity - which they desperately need just to remain a going concern - in order to make acquisitions (especially as big as taking control of U2) is IMHO absolutely batsh1t crazy. Even IAG are trying to get out of the Air Europa deal. Of course this comment could age very badly as quickly as tomorrow morning but I just cannot see it.

In my experience announcements that have to be preceded by an advance "We will be making an announcement in two days time" invariably turn out to be trivia, such as a new colour palette for the logo. And in fact the stock exchanges of quoted companies would not accept such advance "warning" that is coded for insiders for anything major.

For the record Wizz and easyJet have basicly the same market value, and neither has the cash available to take over the other one, especially in the middle of this crisis.
I don’t see the value of a merge at this point when everybody is fighting for survival but who knows |

They will commence domestic operations in Australia, extending to trans tasman shortly thereafter. They are just awaiting Virgin to fall over due to 10 years of terrible management and a lack of capital input from the owners. This is a rumour network right?
