Unmarked Gulfstream II crash in Belize

Are Gulfstreams designed to operate from gravel strips?

This one broke in two recently in Belize. It's believed to have been registered as N511TL, but was exported to Mexico in 2017.

Many years ago a Mexican Gulfstream II landed on the home straight of Mallow Racecourse at Cork after running out of fuel during a diversion from Shannon to Cork. It was more or less undamaged and a month or so later flew out from a temporary tarmac strip laid on the racecourse.

They use those airplanes, unregistered for drug smuggling I guess, some time ago even a DC 8

Yes, it was not uncommon for them to cross the Atlantic (uncontrolled of course) and unload in Africa for eventual transport into Europe. I'm not sure if this route is still being used but would not be impossible with old biz jets like this.

That's right! Though it wasn't exactly planned. Took them a month to build a suitable strip for the aircraft to take off from. The pilots waited around and were made welcome by the locals in Cork.

RDAF G-III's used to operate from gravel strips in Greenland.

Williams said that his officers received intelligence of a plane landing but had deployed to another area of Blue Creek where they thought it would have made its landing

presumably the police officers are somewhat better off financially now or decided that discretion was the better part of valor when it came to investigating what presumably was a drug running operation

Almost certainly drug running, the profits involved mean that an old aircraft can be flown and simply abandoned after landing at a suitable off airport area in the US.

Aircraft previously owned by Time-Warner. Was the highest time G-IIB with 17,000 hours.
