Oops: Brussels Airlines’ Nine Hour Flight To Nowhere

It was a paperwork issue resulting in 247 very p*ssed off passengers.
This was nothing to do with the crew, I believe they received a ACARS message to return to base when they were nearing the Canadian coast. |

9 hours? That's nothing! Early hours of a night shift and we had a B747-400 return to base after 13 hours in the sky, they had suffered an electrical failure that meant they hadn't had use of any toilets for 6 hours! The crew had a good sense of humour, especially when I asked if they needed anywhere to dump :}
