How we do border security in Canada
|
What a nightmare. Border security in many countries has free reign to act outside of constitutional and regulatory norms. |
Might just cross Canada off my bucket list! :( |
All under the guise of keeping the masses safe.
History sure does rhyme. Meanwhile the proceeds of corruption keep getting laundered into real estate, why the storm troopers get told to look the other way. |

Drug smuggling?
Now that pot is legal in Canada, the border security folks are just trying to protect their domestic markets.
Kidding aside, I've suspected that US CBP motives have always leaned toward maintaining an economic 'Iron Curtain' by blocking otherwise legal foreign goods from entering the country and competing with home markets. |

Did she had an Huawei mobile phone ? It seems that there an high probability of being arrested while transiting Vancouver if you have an Huawei cell phone ... but hang on ... the above event was in Jan/2016, therefore it is probably not related ...

If anyone thinks YVR is problematic for Border Security.....then please don't dare try Montreal after my recent experience.
Neanderthals....without the manners. |
Border security? In Canada, you can walk across from the U.S. at a non-border checkpoint and claim refugee status. Now that is friendly, and stupid. Thousands of "refugees" have entered Canada this way since 2017.

And RCMP valet service will carry your bags. |

Has border security comes down to being rude and having a power trip? I thought Canadians were more melllow that this person. I wonder if she said or did something to start it?

Couple of years back we decided to visit NY via Montreal and take the train through the Appalachians - and return the same way. Should have been a wonderful trip - we had our (paid for and organised on line) appropriate entry forms for both countries ready. At the border south the train was halted and every pax had to go in turn to a compartment where two officials were installed and answer just about all the same questions (all over again in our case) and spend about 15 minutes or more doing so. The forms were ignored (that’s only for entry by air...) Train was held up for over 2 hours to enter USA. They beat that on the return journey where we had 31/2 hours delay to enter Canada. Screwed all arrangements for those two days. I guess this happens on a daily basis? |

"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." - Benjamin Franklin History teaches us that this slow spiral to tyranny begins with small breaches of and changes to legal process. Once the catch cry was a witch, these days a terrorist or a pedophile, but the march goes on. When the invertible fracture occurs, a revolution of sorts, these jackboots will find themselves flotsam and treated accordingly. |

Patriot Act in the US, media raids in Australia and facial recognition in China helping with social credit scores show tyranny is everywhere.
