Everybody is joyful, happiness prevails, this is the end of the "carrottes rapées" grated carrots for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Everybody on board, check-list and... wait a minute isn't some kind of warning lights there and there? Uh hydraulics kaput? Yes indeed. Ladies and gentlemen, it's being 7 hours you are in the cabin but back to the carrots.
It's time to call the Authorities to ask for special authorisations. Can we charter a Russian Airline to take our passengers to Shanghai? HET. Ah OK. Can we charter a China Eastern Airline flight? HET. OK and a China Southern or a China Anything Airline? HET? OK spasiba so you mean we have to send a third B773 or anything with two wings to rescue the rescuing aircraft? DA. OK thanks.

AF380V is on its way now. FGZNE B77W. Take off from CDG at 1356Z...

It was a B77W (-300ER) rather than a B773 (non-ER, none of those in Air France's fleet).

We like to get these things right on PPRuNe - other sources are available for the less discerning. :O

There are not many airports featuring 3x AF777 on tarmac at the same time... Slowly building a hub?

I apologize and will correct that ASAP.
Also, and because I do not want to spread fake news about this important culinary matter. There was not only grated carrots provided to the passengers but also :
https://www.liberation.fr/france/201...iberie_1691806
"Nous tâchons de leur donner le meilleur de la nourriture russe", a indiqué Tatiana Leontieva, l'une des cheffes cuisinières d'un hôtel où sont accueillis les passagers, ajoutant que certains d'entre eux avaient beaucoup aimé "le bortsch et les boulettes de viande russes". We are trying to give them the best of Russian food, "said Tatiana Leontieva, one of the chief cooks of a hotel where passengers are greeted, adding that some of them had loved" the borscht and dumplings of Russian meat ".
I know a little bit Russian people (not that far indeed) and no wonder that they have done their best in this case of situation.
AF380V should not be long to start its descent now.
A little bit fresh there :

Three AF 777's at the same time on a same airport abroad... I'm not sure that it ever happened elsewhere...

If I remember right it is at least 3rd time AF777 diverted to IKT - and one of them was GE90 change at minus 40c on the ramp...

The GE90 change was at Yakutsk (YKS), not IKT. Apart the low temperature the job went very well, especially if you compare with the engine change of the A380 at Goose Bay last year.

Yakutsk was something else (or just another one?). The one I am referring to has happened in December 2005, B777-200ER, Irkutsk.

United diverted a 777 about 10 or 12 years ago to YZF. Sat there for quite a while in the winter time although another 777 quickly pucked up the pax. Another engine had to be sent by 747 but there was nothing to offload it in YZF so it flew to YEG and was trucked all the way up to YZF including crossing a very large river that uses a ferry in the summer and an ice road in the winter.

Temps were quite mild in YZF while the airplane was sitting there.....until the night of the engine change. Then it went down to -38. Got a picture of myself standing in the old engine. And got to go into the cockpi of a 777 for the first time......now I do it on a regular basis.
