swh is right. Crew safety brief should have been done in good time so avoiding any delay whilst being pushed back onto the runway and turning round at the end for take-off.
Hopefully new runway and parking areas being constructed on east side will resolve the present runway and parking constraints |

In MLE, you are pushed back onto the runway just to even start the engines. Back taxi, 180 turn, etc. The runway is yours as soon as you push. Sounds like an ATC spacing issue to me. Not sure how that relates to PIC being overworked.
