Thanks wiggy and BJJ.
So the wake/vortex would actually be very slightly less in steady state climb.
I suppose the extreme case is the fighter climbing vertically, with zero lift from the wings, and hence minimal vortices.

ooh I don’t know...you could learn a lot about vertical component of thrust and steady state in 50’s dinosaurs such as the F-4....(Lightweight, I hasten to add)..
