This Time, a United Flight Attendant Erratic Behavior
|
Actually not United, but Trans States, a United codeshare feeder.
A passenger on the flight, en route from Denver to Williston, North Dakota, complained about the employee’s behavior in a since-deleted tweet, writing, “Thanks United, for a terrifying flight! Drunk or stoned stewardess endangered everybody’s lives,” several news outlets reported. “Boarding announcements were ‘if your seatbelt isn’t tight, you F^*%ed up,'” the passenger wrote, according to NBC Bay Area. The outlet also reported that the passenger went to the cockpit during the flight to report the attendant’s “out of control” behavior to the pilot, and that police were waiting for her when the flight landed in North Dakota. The attendant was not arrested upon landing. United released the following statement: "We are aware of a concerning incident involving a flight attendant serving on our regional service provider Trans States Airlines flight 4689. As a gesture of goodwill, we have compensated all customers aboard the flight and we apologize for any inconvenience or distress this may have caused. The safety of our customers and crew aboard all United and Trans States flights is a top priority." Trans States Airlines also released a statement: "Trans States Airlines is aware of reports of erratic behavior by a flight attendant on flight #4689 from Denver to Williston. The situation is under investigation and the flight attendant is being held out of service. The safety of our passengers and crew is ours and United’s top priority." |
UA appear to be taking the right steps here. No reason for her to be arrested and put in jail. Such behaviour could be a result of many other things than illegal drugs or alcohol.

If this is true
The outlet also reported that the passenger went to the cockpit during the flight |

If this is true excellent security inflight! After 9/11 the world had to change due to lax US domestic security, has nothing been learnt?
An article which purports to be quoting the passengers actual words contains: " I had to go to the cockpit and call the pilot and tell him they had an out of control attendant. " I would interpret that as meaning that she went to the locked cockpit door and used the intercom to communicate with the crew. Not that she opened the door and entered the cockpit. |
Our American brothers have never worried too much about the english language. I love Trans States comment ' the flight attendant is being held out of service'.

Williston layover...I'd go berserk too...:ok:
|
This appears to be a ongoing trend, USA Domestic carriers on my newsfeed here in Oz every day for passenger dramas. Its the same here with QF. Media go absolutely mental when something goes wrong at QF, leads every 6pm news bulletin, on every news site, yet over at Virgin something happens nobody gives a ****. |

As for the media, in my little metro area, which is a UA hub (though not served by Trans States), there's been very little attention paid here on local TV. Put a dog in the overhead bin, different story. |

health? yes, its not healthy to show up for your job drunk. its very unhealthy. you are very likely to get sick to your stomach when you sober up.

Do not forget that this was a regional airline, a feeder carrier for United. Trans States is pretty much on the bottom rung of air carriers in the US. Minimum wage pay gets you minimum quality. |
