Black Exhaust

I live in Myanmar and have seen this plane taking off from RGN on 3 occasions. It has always stood out because it is a absolute beast and leaves a heavy black exhaust trail as it ascends.

Slightly different but much more likely scenario. No mention of engines in the BBC article linked by previous poster.

What kind of wing/tail de-ice does the Y-8 have? Was it maintained?

As an extra question does it have a weather radar?

Yes, in the radome under the navigator compartment.
