Another bad weather landing mishap this morning at Ufa.

Crayner: please identify the spoilers in the photos. Hence my question. I don't see any spoilers deployed; unless they were retracted for the evacuation, but then again, it is not necessary to do so given the position of the exits.

Some do, apparently. Yak-142 Derivative of Yak-42D with updated, western AlliedSignal avionics, spoilers to allow faster descent and enlarged cabin door to accommodate jet bridge. Also designated Yak-42A, Yak-42-100 and Yak-42D-100. |
Looking at the video submitted by the Aviation Herald, and comparing it to the airport layout, it appears it went off at some considerable speed.

The spoilers are in the conventional position, directly in front of the outboard flaps:

The Yak-42 is a pretty solid aeroplane - reminded me of the F-28 - rather overengineered tough old bird I felt
