Someone get Joe Petrone and a shovel!

SpyPilot 28th Jan 2016 02:29

Lets keep all the extremely important fine points accurate here, shall we?

His name was Patroni.

Very tight reversal for a widebody at M5. Gotta know yer 'plane.
Air Canada 777 did the same thing a few years back at this spot. Apparently the f/o had a book or something on the right side which blocked the skipper's tiller from getting full pivot. Hello grass.

Seen it done in that exact location with body gear steering inop one time so there was Quite possibly a misjudgement. Just take it far then turn tight. But not too far.

SpyPilot, please don't tell Joe I put an E on the end of his surname, last time someone did that he put a cigar thru a 707 fuselage.

B777 tiller is in a different location than the 747 and different plane of rotation and seems like it may be more vulnerable to jamming. I discovered this during pushback in the sim with the top of a briefcase open which became jammed. Keep that area clear for ground ops is important.
