Citation VII crashed in Brazil
 

November 10th, a Citation VII, with prefix PT-WQH, crashed in Brazil.

There were 4 souls onboard: two crew and two important executives from one of the biggest banks of Brazil (Bradesco). No survivors.

Preliminary news says that the plane was at FL360 when there was a sudden drop of altitude.

That was a very high energy accident! Probably close to Mach I.

Does the Citation VII experience Mach tuck under certain conditions?
Not an aircraft that I've flown so I don't know the 'Gotchas'.

Long time since intense AF447 effort. :)

I was imagining a scenario of depressurization and a LOC during dive.

Plane was 4 POB in a leg of 1 1/2 hour and radar echoes were lost when at 360.

I have more data to post. Will do it right now.

Note that the crater shown above is consistent with that said one farm machine operator: "He took a pop, I thought it was thunder When I saw it [the aircraft] flew in very low woods I thought he would land..but I went straight and saw the explosion. "

Could be a ground scar from a wing also.

I imagined VS tip first. Probability of wing tip, much higher!

In 2008 a citation III, essentialy the same type, had an quite similar accident in Venezuela. Dived from cruise altitude in to the ground. ACCIDENTE DEL N385EM, ANACO, ANZOATEGUI, VENEZUELA

@Silvio Pettirossi: Was there a probable cause established for this accident?

The following (unofficial) info is available @Contato Radar (Brazilian aviation forum) and other news sites:
- Aircraft was cleared by ATC from FL360 to FL410. Soon after it was seen descending 1000 ft and then disappeared from radar (secondary, primary?)
- No mayday or other Tx was heard
- 3 months ago, aircraft was in Wichita being refurbished/refitted (no details yet)
- Maintenance was supposedly top notch, performed either by TAM or at the factory. She had her own dedicated mechanic (the bank's other jet, a G200, has a different dedicated mechanic)
- No FDR, only CVR
- A 2002 AD addressed the possibility of runaway trim, but it's hard to think it hasn't been taken care of.

A weird accident by all accounts.

According to G1 - CVR found, the CVR was found, but it status is unknown. Perhaps some news will be released soon
