San Diego airport sues over cranes
Hi, I'm not sure if this is the read place to post it, so apologies to mods if it isn't.
I came across this article: Airport sues over tall downtown cranes | SanDiegoUnionTribune.com In short, there are three 650ft tall cranes less than a mile from the airport, and now the airport is suing. From the article: Last week’s FAA policy change requires pilots approaching from the east to switch from instrument navigation to visual navigation earlier and at a higher altitude because of the cranes. They were previously required to switch when they got three-quarters of a mile away and they could be at 258 feet altitude. Now they must switch at a mile and a half and be at 461 feet altitude. |
