A Korean Air B737 KE763 overran at Niigata, Japan.

No injuries reported.

Not a good news for airlines in Korea.

Well at least the tail stayed attached to that one!

Good of course folks, that there were no injuries among those on board. But it's a Korean carrier yet again, or perhaps' it's just because there some many of them flying about.

So cavok and they take it short then a spot of rain and they land long..please...

Listen to some of the stories from the many contractors coming back from here on the 73 and you will not be surprised at this. I fear things will get a lot worse before they get better.

Well, if you check out the news, you can tell that they are both non western. Of course, I stand corrected if either or both are Asian contractors.

Before we start throwing nationality-based canards around, let's be clear that according to this tally:

there have been 6 737 off-runway incidents this year alone, including Delta at Columbus, OH...

The first model of the 737-900 (ie non ER) is a piece of junk to say the least. One of its least redeeming qualities is the ludicrously high ref speeds for tail strike avoidance. These guys were only about another 20 feet from hitting the water.

Regardless of nationality, maybe they were just "drivers" and not pilots. :cool:

Never understood pilots being referred to as drivers and race car drivers being referred to as pilots. Just checked...my license still says "pilot" and my driver's license still says "driver". :ok:

Apparently they had a normal touchdown, tower told them to roll to the end, the Captain misjudged the distance to the taxiway, and could not make the turn.

Slippery when wet...
 

Trying to turn on the piano keys a tad too fast has tricked more than one crew in several parts of the world. The white stripes can be significantly more slippery than the unpainted rwy surface...

Maybe for a rookie but not a chap with a trained and allegedly qualified captain landing on an 8,202' runway (6,965') of runway beyond the G/S.
