Landing issue in Sudan

Airport authorities had to close the roads near the airport and support the runway sides with sand to ensure the plane's safe landing. |

How many days would that take?

"Support the runway sides with sand" Language translation oddity? In any case it looks like a relatively good outcome. A good operational test result from the foam truck too. |
Plenty of sand in Sudan. Would only take a few minutes !

Lost in translation methinks  |
Last time I was there sand was all there was at the edges of the runway.
