Awaiting further media reports.... |

BBC News article can be found here:
Airbus in emergency landing It is an accurate report of the events. |
Seems the punters were rescued by Cougars big cat !! ;)
|
Sorry Viking, but could you translate that into English please, or did you have to be there? ;)
|
I will translate for you WTHWT!! The passangers were taken to the terminal re-boarded on a Cougar (BIG CAT PAINTWORK) B727 and flown to their destination. UNDERSTAND NOW :D :D :D :p
|
Max Steel,
B757 big a/c with black and yellow on it. I can give you the reg for your book if you want. :D |
Now it makes sense ;)
That reminds me, I was sitting at 26L hold @ LGW a couple a weeks ago and saw Cougar's Big Cat on short finals. He then proceded to make one of the WORST landings I've ever been lucky enough to watch. I've never seen anyone bounce a 727 before! Even ATC made a comment it was that good! I've done a few cruchers before, but witnessing that was classic. Anybody here going to be brave enough to own up to it? :) |
Quote from the BBC: "The aircraft was an Airbus 321, a different type of jet to the Airbus A300 which crashed in New York on Monday."
In fact the A321 is a different type of jet to many other well known jets that have crahed :p |
Reference rough landings:
If everyone walked away I'll be happy to own up to it! |
Sadly this was one occasion Cougar's Big Cat was unavailable to help the stranded TFS passengers. Someone else took them on Holiday. :(
|
I thought that Cougar was a cargo outfit. Were the pax containerised? :D :D

Why does the BBC have to resort to tabloid style reporting when an Airbus is involved in an accident? The article on Airbus reliability, where past accidents are listed by date and location, conveys the message to the uninitiated that the Airbus is an unsafe product. It fails to mention the fact that in 29 years of Airbus operations, there have been 15 fatal accidents, 14 out of which have been attributed to pilot error. The last accident involving AA 578 is the only one that may prove to have been caused by mechanical failure. :(
