To whoever mentioned Spain - I flew out of BCN last night and wasn't checked for liquids, and neither was anyone else I saw going through security over a 10 minute period.

Were you crew - and di you have a borading card?
Or were you a "normal" passenger?

Apologies, meant to say, as pax.

Cattletruck:

It's good to see the ban lifted soon, and thanks to those airports that have provided drink vending machines inside the embarking passenger lounges to help those of us that like to drink lots of water.
Take an empty bottle through security and fill it up for free at the water fountain in the departure lounge.

The blanket liquids ban is daft anyway, trivial to circumvent. Scanners that can detect the nature of the liquids themselves are definitely a step forward.

Body Scanning is the answer!

As is becoming the norm, good 'Ole Blighty' over-reacts to everything: whereas:-
It is already being adopted across America, where the Transport Security Agency last week ordered 1,000 scanners from Rapiscan Systems.
But in England some tw*t has found that it may infringe pornogrophy laws:-
