From a source in TNT training we hear that the new TNT contract that Atlas air is flying out of Liege to Africa and else where will be turned into a dry lease with TNT pilots flying an Atlas aircraft, which is currently in the process of being re-registered in Belgium. At this time the flights are being manned by a mixture of AACS and mainline Atlas crews, but this is to end with the completion of training of the TNT crews. Said training will be in the UK ( London ), and will begin in January. Looks like this will cut out the Atlas and AACS crews from a lot of EU flying, since the plan is for additional aircraft to be put on the contract, which is being done by 1 -400 at this time. Any Atlas or AACS pilots care to comment? Have you been advised of this by Atlas MGT? What effect will this have on the on-going union discussions between Atlas mgt. and the mainline pilots? I'll bet a cockpit manned by a combination of AACS and Atlas pilots makes for a cozy atmosphere . . . . NOT.

The list seems to be getting real long and stretched thin.

Seems like AAI is getting smaller while the rest are growing in terms of capacity.

How does this effect your contract negotiations? Or, is that a moot point now that there are TONS of carriers who can move TONS of cargo now in the event you walk?

Does anybody know if Atlas are recruiting in the
near future for their Stansted operation; and, if so, are they taking non 747 rated drivers?

I hear that AACS (the alter-ego company formed in the UK by Atlas Air) is such a great place to work that they've lost many going to other airlines. You should do some careful research on these people before you sign up. It was set up as a union busting outfit, that so far has been working, especially in conjunction with the current world economy. Go back in the old old threads on PPRUNE and you can get a picture.
