Tony in a 73' but Charlie lumps it in a Be200

Don't want to open a political debate here; not particularly interested in how y'all are going to vote but is it us who are paying for the PM to thrash round the country in a 737 while Kennedy made do with a Manhattan Beech Super King Air?

We must remember it's not the government chartering the 73' but the Labour party. Do we as taxpayers fund the parties individually or are they all funded through private donation?

From this question you'll see I'm not all that up on political financing so no p**staking please!

I've got a feeling this thread might get a padlock due to relevance; apologies if so.

And Titans B737 too...one of the most expensive per hour in the country....we avoid it unless we are seriously in the clag !!!!

But i'm sure Bernie Ecclestone can afford it :)

They both deserve to be in a shed!!

The campaigns of the two major parties will come out at around 15-20 million apiece.

The source of the dosh is:

1) 'Short Money' Public funds paid to parties
2) Donations from rich people who either a) believe in the party or b) know a winner when they see one
3) Subscriptions from members (like me)
4) Bank loans, because nobody wishes to lose for a crappy five million or so.

There are statutory limits, but it is too boring to look them up.

At the risk of sounding really boring, the UK probably has the most honest political system in Europe.

French Presidents under investigation.
German ex Chancellor ditto
Italy - well, what can I say?
the list goes on......

Topman - that's an insult to the Shed!

Apparently somebody with a light bulb shaped head and frightening pixie like features thinks HM's 146 is not good enough. So a VC10 has to be rolled out.
I would love to be a socialist - but I don't think I could afford it!

Maybe it will be taken out of service to be fitted with an EAD - "Egg Alert Device"!

Roll on the revolution :) :) :)

Just to redress the balance slightly, the Titan ATR.42 G-BUPS was rolled out at Exeter recently with Lib Dem titles!

Isn't the leader of the Green Party using a glider?
