Personally I would have just called it SN AIRLINES. I don't like the "Brussels" bit. But, then again, what do I know about commercial branding. <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

I don't think that the Belgians ever had any marketing accumen. This is joke. SN Airlines, SN Brussels Airlines, Brussels Sprout Airlines...what else are we going to hear! . .I think Sabena or Belgian's national flag carrier needs a new image, something to be proud of. I'd rather hear something that has Belgium and International....BINGO!! What about Belgium International ???

I haven't seen their new logo yet, however I can only imagine that its dull, representing little enthusiasm.

Aloha

While showing a symbolic link to the past, the new name reflects the new values and characteristics the company commits to build upon. The implementation of the new brand will be done gradually. It will happen in parallel with the launching of new services and product approaches.

. .The choice of the name is a result of a working group that analyzed more than 50 proposals. The final choice is based on a proposal from Pentagone, in cooperation with Minale Design Strategy. The new name reflects two main purposes: . .To maintain a symbolic link with the past: The ex-Sabena logo, i.e. the “S” on the tail of the plane, remains, as well as the use of the “SN” code which was the Sabena/DAT carrier code (= identification code of an airline used in all airline transactions, e.g.: airports, reservations systems, travel agencies, ticketing, …) . .To be oriented towards the future and innovation.

I wish the pilots could figure out what the callsign is. DAT2053 inbound into Bristol the other day called up as "DAT Sabena SN Brussels Airlines 2053." I don't really think he knew WHAT to say! <img src="mad.gif" border="0">
